The Marriage Offsite is an early, actively-changing product. By using it, you're agreeing to these terms — read them, and if anything here doesn't sit right, email us before you use the app.
The Marriage Offsite is built and run by Thishani and Steven, as individuals — there's no separate company behind it. When these terms say “we” or “us,” that's who we mean.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use The Marriage Offsite.
This is a beta-quality product built by a couple, still learning what it should be. It's provided “as is,” without guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Features may change, break, or disappear as we iterate.
The Marriage Offsite is free to use today. We may introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future — if we do, we'll tell you clearly before anything you're currently using starts costing money.
One partner signs up and starts a couple; they invite the second partner by email, and both sign in with a passwordless magic link — there are no passwords to manage. Once you're linked as a couple, you and your partner share access to the reflections, goals, and session data you create together — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that means, and Security for how that content is encrypted.
What you and your partner write, draw, and rate during a session — your moments, goals, notes, everything — is yours. We don't claim ownership of it. We use it only to run the app for you, including sending it to the Emcee AI feature to generate prompts and recaps for your own session (see the Privacy Policy for how that works).
The app is meant for two partners using it together for their own personal relationship reflection. Please don't use it:
The Marriage Offsite, and its “Emcee” AI facilitator, are conversation aids — not therapy, counseling, or any form of professional or medical advice. If you and your partner are dealing with something serious — abuse, crisis, or anything beyond what a structured conversation can help with — please reach out to a licensed professional instead.
This is a small, early-stage product, run at your own discretion. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Marriage Offsite and its founders disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and aren't liable for any damages — direct, indirect, or consequential — arising from your use of the app, including anything that comes out of conversations it prompts.
You can stop using the app at any time. To request that your account and data be deleted, email hello@themarriageoffsite.com. We may suspend or remove access for anyone who violates the acceptable-use terms above.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If a disagreement comes up, please email us first — we'd rather sort it out directly. If that doesn't resolve it, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll update the date at the top when we do, and continued use of the app means you accept the current version.
Questions about these terms? Email hello@themarriageoffsite.com.
