Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 August 2026

The Marriage Offsite is a small, early-stage product built by a couple, for couples. We're still learning what this needs to be — this policy describes, honestly and in plain language, what we collect today and what we do with it. It will change as the product does.

What we collect

To run an offsite session, we store:

  • Your email address and name, used to sign you in and identify you to your partner.
  • What you write and draw during a session — your top moments, your emotional-year line and notes, your pillar ratings and reflections, your goals, and your year plan.
  • A record of your couple (who you're paired with) and your session history.
  • Any free-form notes you add to your shared couple space.

We don't ask for anything beyond what a session needs, and we don't collect payment information — the product doesn't charge for anything today.

Who can see it

The Marriage Offsite is built for shared reflection, not private journaling. Everything you enter during a session — your moments, notes, ratings, and goals — is visible to the partner you're linked with as a couple in the app. That's the whole point of the product: a structured, honest conversation between the two of you.

We do not share your data with any other couple, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone. The only other parties who ever touch it are the service providers below, and only to the extent needed to run the app.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the app:

  • Supabase— hosts our database and handles sign-in. Your account, session answers, and couple data live in Supabase's Postgres database, protected by row-level security so only members of your couple can access your couple's rows. Supabase also sends the magic-link sign-in email on our behalf.
  • Anthropic (Claude API)— our “Emcee” facilitator feature sends the answers you and your partner write during a session to Anthropic's Claude API, so it can generate a relevant discussion prompt or recap. Anthropic processes this on our behalf to provide that feature; we don't control Anthropic's own data-handling terms beyond that relationship.
  • Resend — sends the transactional emails the app needs, such as inviting your partner to join your couple.
  • Vercel — hosts the app, and provides privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics and performance monitoring. We use this to understand things like page load speed and rough usage, not to track individuals.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data, to anyone, ever.
  • We don't use advertising or ad-tracking cookies.
  • We don't use third-party marketing or tracking trackers of any kind.
  • We don't show your data to, or share it with, anyone outside your couple.

Cookies

We use strictly-necessary cookies only: one to keep you signed in (set by Supabase Auth), and a short-lived one that carries a partner-invite link through the sign-in process. Neither is used for advertising or cross-site tracking. See the cookie notice shown in the app for details.

Data retention & deletion

We don't yet have a self-serve “delete my account” button in the app — we're a small, early product and haven't built that flow yet. If you'd like your data deleted, email us at hello@themarriageoffsite.com and we'll remove your account and session data by hand.

Changes to this policy

This is an early version of the product and this policy may change as we learn what it needs to cover. We'll update the date at the top when it does.
